Passive and semi-passive treatment systems require less power and maintenance, and no additional chemicals, but are also only effective within certain parameters. Clear Water believes that the semi-passive options are best suited to industrial activities and project size. In order to determine the “best-fit” treatment solution for the project, Clear Water follows a set of protocols:
Clear Water has created drainage systems similar to the “Grattix” boxes developed by the Port of Vancouver in that they utilize recycled chemical totes filled with multi-media to filter and adsorb stormwater contaminants. Typically mixed media is provided in the base-tote and targets dissolved stormwater contaminants with lower levels of suspended solids. These systems are designed to be both scalable in size and function.
