Clear Water Services assisted with multiple phases of development at this large shipyard, supplying treatment specific to the construction general permit (CGP) and an individual industrial stormwater general permit (ISGP). Under the construction scope, Clear Water partnered with Orion Marine to provide dewatering and stormwater treatment services under the NPDES construction stormwater general permit for water entering the Duwamish waterway. The system included a 500gpm chemically enhanced sand filtration (CESF) system with additional adsorptive vessels for tertiary treatment. The temporary system was mobilized and operated for 6 months during construction activities. Under the industrial scope, Clear Water also supported the shipyard with the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent 540gpm CESF treatment system. The treatment system was designed to support the consistent reduction of copper, zinc, petroleum hydrocarbons, and total suspended solids (TSS), all of which are regulated under the operator's individual ISGP. The system has treated and discharged over 11 million gallons of water while maintaining strict compliance.
