This transfer station supports several communities in the South Puget Sound region. Industrial activities on site include container storage, parking of employee and company vehicles and equipment, and compressed gas fueling. In partnership with River’s Edge, Clear Water Services designed and installed a 300gpm CESF system to treat oil sheen, turbidity, pH, total copper, and total zinc. Due to necessary infrastructure changes to support stormwater conveyance to the permanent system, a temporary CESF system was mobilized adjacent to the infrastructure work to keep the site water discharge under effluent benchmarks during the construction and mobilization of the permanent system. The site treated over 2 million gallons of stormwater in its first year of operations.
Clear Water’s Drop-in Clarifier is designed to be implemented into an existing tank, pond, or other water storage structure on site to maximize the existing storage volume and enhance clarification prior to filtration or other downstream treatment steps.
This clarification system can increase the settling removal rate by 3-5X over using traditional weir tanks, increasing system efficiency while reducing the overall footprint.
This also allows sites to manage temporary heavy loading conditions without major changes to water treatment equipment or components.
